  • Changing Nameservers only affects where your domain points — it does not transfer ownership.
  • Your domain registration stays with your current registrar (you can renew there as usual).
  • Any existing DNS records (MX for email, etc.) at your old provider will stop working once nameservers change.
  • Propagation can take up to 48 hours worldwide — plan accordingly.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
  1. Go to the website where your domain is registered or managed (your registrar or hosting control panel).
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Find the section for your Domain (usually called “My Domains”, “Domain Management”, or “DNS Settings”).
  4. Select or click on your Domain.
  5. Locate the “Nameservers” or “DNS Nameservers” section.
  6. Change nameservers. Look for options like “Custom nameservers”, “Manual nameservers”, “Change nameservers”, “Enter my own”, or “Advanced”.
  7. Enter the following two nameservers:
    Nameserver 1: ns1.host.dominionport.com
    Nameserver 2: ns2.host.dominionport.com
  8. (Leave any additional fields blank unless more are required)
  9. Confirm or accept any warning popups.
  10. Save or Apply the changes.
  11. Then login to port panel click Domain Setup Add New.
  12. Enter your domain and click Create.
Wait for Propagation & Test
  1. The change starts propagating immediately — it usually become functional immediately, but can be up to 48 hours worldwide
  2. Your domain will now point to DominionPort hosting
  3. Test by visiting yourdomain.com in a browser (use incognito/private mode or different devices)
  4. If it still shows the old site, flush your local DNS: Windows (cmd: ipconfig /flushdns), Mac (Terminal: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache)
